Railroads
My fascination with railroads goes back to, as a kid, watching the London Unddergournd trains from the road overpass at North Ealing station. I am particularly interested in the history of passenger rail in the United States and the increasing focus on the development of high speed rail throughout the world. I also love visiting abandoned train stations.
Hiking and Bicycling
In the summer of 1987 after graduating from high school, I spent a month traveling in England by bicycle. I have fond memories of that trip. I have recently become interested in hiking as well. Both are such a great way to explore the world at a leisurely pace.
Running
I was never good at or liked any sport in school until I joined the cross country team as a sophomore in high school. I have run three marathons and one half marathon. I plan to do many more.
